Ric As I am relatively new to Linux I have had a difficult time to understand what the real problem over which interface to use; to me it is a case of choose the one you want and that's the end of it. >From my perspective if the Linux side wants a win against the common foe we need some solid choices in the gui world; while command line may give one better control etc the reality is the non techno crowd will only use an operating system that has a gui they can work with, as each of us looks at things differently several choices have a better chance of appealing to the regular user. While I think the current choices are usable by the non tech crowd the message needs to get out that which ever distro one chooses or interface they all will hold there own against the common foe.
