SM works fine for me. If anything, it's too "sticky": there's no way to
temporarily show all messages. I have to go change the setting, find the
message I want, then go back and un-change the setting.

Ah - mine is FC6 - seamonkey-1.0.5-1.fc6

I set my mail to threaded and closed down the mail. When I opened back
up the mail, it was still displayed in threaded mode. It is the fc6
version also from Extras.
