For regular users of the pan newsreader planning to upgrade to FC6: FC6 installs the newest branch of pan (nice) which does not import any existing user settings (ouch). For a simple one-server, one-profile setup, it's no big deal to enter these manually again. Old pan settings are left in ~/.pan, while new ones are created in ~/.pan2. So you can look through the .xml files for servers and profiles. For more complicated setups, there are some useful suggestions here: http://article.gmane.org/gmane.comp.gnome.apps.pan.user/7759 In particular, I would have used this bit of advice BEFORE upgrading: >Subscribed group and read-message tracking: You'll want to use old-pan's >newsrc export ability for this, setting the preferences to write the >newsrcs. You'll need to ensure one is created for each server. New-pan >uses newsrc files directly, so once you have them created in old-pan, all >you have to do is move them into correct place in new-pan. --Jack
