I had a machine that I purchased from Fry's with linspire installed. I could install any flavor of Linux I tried, but it refused to install/boot any flavor of Windows. I had another that came with WinXP, and it had some problems with the OEM version installed. It refused to install a vanilla version of XP. In both cases, installing a generic mobo fixed the problem.
