I have noticed that boot has begun to take a long time and it is especially the start of sendmail. I find the following in the maillog file:

Sep 21 16:29:47 epohost sendmail[3124]: My unqualified host name (epohost) unknown; sleeping for retry
Sep 21 16:30:47 epohost sendmail[3124]: unable to qualify my own domain name (epohost) -- using short name

It wants to be able to resolve its own name and reverse-resolve the IP
addresses of the interfaces it listens on. If you don't have working
DNS for these, put them in your hosts file.

I thought I did that:

/etc/hosts:
127.0.0.1	localhost.localdomain	localhost
192.168.1.100 EPO-xp
192.168.1.105 epowork
192.168.1.125 epohost
