Sendmail sleeping during boot.

I have noticed that boot has begun to take a long time and it is especially the start of sendmail. I find the following in the maillog file:

Sep 21 16:29:47 epohost sendmail[3124]: My unqualified host name (epohost) unknown; sleeping for retry
Sep 21 16:30:47 epohost sendmail[3124]: unable to qualify my own domain name (epohost) -- using short name
Sep 21 16:30:47 epohost sendmail[3124]: alias database /etc/aliases rebuilt by root
Sep 21 16:30:47 epohost sendmail[3124]: /etc/aliases: 80 aliases, longest 10 bytes, 814 bytes total
Sep 21 16:30:47 epohost sendmail[3131]: My unqualified host name (epohost) unknown; sleeping for retry
Sep 21 16:31:47 epohost sendmail[3131]: unable to qualify my own domain name (epohost) -- using short name
Sep 21 16:31:47 epohost sendmail[3136]: starting daemon (8.13.7): SMTP+queueing@01:00:00
Sep 21 16:31:47 epohost sm-msp-queue[3144]: My unqualified host name (epohost) unknown; sleeping for retry
Sep 21 16:32:47 epohost sm-msp-queue[3144]: unable to qualify my own domain name (epohost) -- using short name
Sep 21 16:32:47 epohost sm-msp-queue[3149]: starting daemon (8.13.7): queueing@01:00:00
Sep 21 16:32:49 epohost spamd[3159]: logger: removing stderr method Sep 21 16:32:51 epohost spamd[3161]: spamd: server started on port 783/tcp (running version 3.1.3) Sep 21 16:32:51 epohost spamd[3161]: spamd: server pid: 3161 Sep 21 16:32:51 epohost spamd[3161]: spamd: server successfully spawned child process, pid 3230 Sep 21 16:32:51 epohost spamd[3161]: spamd: server successfully spawned child process, pid 3231 Sep 21 16:32:51 epohost spamd[3161]: prefork: child states: II

So sendmail spends 2 minutes waiting. Whatfor? As soon as sendmail has finished everything is normal.
