Well I think yo have identified the problem but what to do? One off the
wall thought is to try a different ac adapter, I have no idea is Dell ac
adapters are interchangable so you oculd find someone else with a Dell
laptop. Or maybe any laptop. It should be a matter of having the same
connector and the same voltage which should be easy to check.
