I am not absolutely sure that it does what you want but IBM has a
product called "Director" that may be what you are looking for. I do
know that it supports both MS and Linux environments. I don't use it
personally but at an IBM dog & pony what I saw looked really good. I am away that a combination of cron files and scripts could do at least much of the same work but to set up such a system in this case will take more time and effort than on going on site maintenance on each PC. |
