I tried this, but saw no effect with either kernel. Kernel 2.6.16-1.2133_FC5 still sleeps and awakens correctly. Kernel 2.6.17-1.2139_FC5 sleeps, but awakens with a frozen X display and keyboard. I also tried *removing* other boot options - rhgb quiet vga=792 - while adding acpi_sleep=s3_bios. That also made no difference, except for the larger console font size.
