I am installing a siemens econel200 SATA RAID 2x Xeon / 2x 160Gb

I am trying to install Centos 4.2 kernel 2.6.9-22, but the simple driver

Does Redhat support SATA?

I don't know about support specifically for your hardware but definitely Fedora has had support for SATA controllers for some time. Perhaps if you've configured your RAID (I believe it is s/w RAID), it is confusing things. Try disabling RAID first and try.
