I've had problems with linux-2.6.17. I get a couple of odd warnings when compiling: -------------------------------------- WARNING: drivers/acpi/processor.o - Section mismatch: reference to .init.data: from .text between 'acpi_processor_power_init' (at offset 0xeec) and 'acpi_safe_halt' WARNING: sound/oss/cs4232.o - Section mismatch: reference to .init.text: from .text between 'cs4232_pnp_probe' (at offset 0x85) and 'unload_cs4232' -------------------------------------- When I run this version of Linux I get a kernel panic, the first error message being Unable to access resume device (/dev/hda7). [/dev/hda7 is in fact my swap partition .] Later I got the error mount: could not find filesystem /dev/root . It's quite possible I made a silly error in "make xconfig". All other old kernels seem to run perfectly, and the entry in grub.conf is the same. Has anyone had a similar problem? I should say I am running Fedora-5 on a ThinkPad T20. -- Timothy Murphy e-mail (<80k only): tim /at/ birdsnest.maths.tcd.ie tel: +353-86-2336090, +353-1-2842366 s-mail: School of Mathematics, Trinity College, Dublin 2, Ireland
