Hi Paul, We have other Linux versions like Fedora 4, RedHat ES servers and they have no problem authenticating to the same iplanet LDAP server. I only encounter this in Fedora 5, I'm in the process of setting up another Fedora 5 this week, I'll configure ldap for this new server to see if it has the same problem as the current one.
