Jeff,

I agree with you, but I have not found a way to turn it off yet.  I
checked the bios and the wireless feature is 'enabled', and tried your
'trick' but it did not work.  ... good idea though!!!!

Any other ideas would be appreciated,

I had a similar problem on my Asus S5A, and the only way to turn the
radio back on if I accidently turned it of was to reboot to windows
and turn it on.
