naw...

as i said.. it was up to about 10X that for a few of the files... then it
went back down to the 60-70KBs... so i'm not sure why it changed either
way!!!

although there could be some conflict within the switch... both the
windows/linux box are both set to full duplex 100Mbs...

65 KB/s is pretty darn good.  That's on the order of 500-550
kilobits/sec -- about what you might expect for gigabit Ethernet.
