Hello,
I discovered that , when you have installed slmodem and you loaded the driver like service, you already have
one new device in /dev called /dev/ttySL0.
I tried it and now it works well like modem.
best regards,
Sauro

As root, try running `modprobe snd-atiixp-modem`. Then try running
gnome-ppp again and see if it catches it. If so, you could probably add
that to your /etc/rc.local file to load it at each boot.

I'm able to modprobe it, but gnome-ppp still does not autodetect
anything. I also do not have a /dev/modem? Is that what it should show
up as? lsmod shows the module loaded now.

Thanks,
James
