No, I did see the item, but I still don't have a good enough
understanding of which files get edited and I don't want to muck
things up beyond repair.

Before I can remove the top/bottom pannel I need to figure out how to
at least create a mouse-menu so that I can get a new xterm and how to
iconify/uniconify the windows.

No I'm not sure. ;-) I'm trying hard to warm up to the stock programs
on FC5.

I really like twm - it does all I want from a UI standpoint.  The X
interface to other programs is getting a bit crusty from lack of
maintenance and I've seen a few newer programs that don't work right
with it.  Presumably window managers are now expected to do something
that twm doesn't do.
