"more support" as in what? A Nautilus UI for managing them? ACLs are fully supported by *Linux*, even if GNOME doesn't give you a UI to view and modify them. Admins can modify them using the command line tools, systems running Samba often have ACLs which users can manage directly. There's definitely a need for software that will back up ACLs as well as data (which dump fills quite well). :)
