Wanted: howto on securing FTP server

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi.

I'm running FC3 on an x86_64 machine, with the gssftpd server installed.

The machine is accessible through a firewall (punched holes for various services
including FTP).

Wondering how I can read up on securing the server so that it allows (a) anonymous
FTP logins, or (b) logins from a limited number of accounts that can then re-authenticate
as root (if they are in the root group).

Anyone have a URL that describes how to do all of that?

Also, information on setting up an address-based wrapper to block connections from
certain CIDR blocks would be handy...

Thanks,

-Philip
