Two things to do Case 1: # modprobe snd_intel8x0m # slmodemd -c YOURCOUNTRY --alsa hw:1 or # slmodemd -c YOURCOUNTRY --alsa hw:0 fire up another terminal/tab # wvdialconf /etc/wvdial.conf will try to find your modem port. If it does find it, it will tell you modem found on /dev/ttySL0. and you can try and configure a connection with KPPP or proceed with wvdial. Case 2: Modem: Intel Corporation 82801DB/DBL/DBM (ICH4/ICH4-L/ICH4-M) AC'97 Modem Controller (rev 03) has a Conexant Subsystem, which would NOT be supported by snd-intel8x0m. Go to http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/#scanmodem Please download scanModem.gz $ gunzip scanModem.gz $ chmod +x scanModem $ su - pswd: **** # cd to directory where scanModem resides and run ./scanModem and return the ModemData.txt to discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Regards, Antonio __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
