I am an interested, but not knowledgeable party, so don't get your hopes up!

I'd thought that this would be OK in 2.6.16;  what happens if you
'modprobe' the module you think ought to be loaded?  Anything relevant in
dmesg or /var/log/messages?

All the modules I  *think*  should be loaded are being loaded. It's just  I'm not getting anything from the tda1004x frontend so I'm really not sure as to what's happening.

AFAIK one of the last things that should happen is output from the tda' saying it's got or not got the firmware (?)

I finally found the issue as detailed  by :
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=181063
which basiclly says blacklist a module as a solution.

Thx
