Maybe you can try Firefox extension PDF Download , which helps a lot,

Tried that.

If I click on a pdf doc, I get 3 choices:

Download It       Open PDF   Open as HTML

Download It is the same as right click-> Save Link As

Open as HTML is useful

But Open PDF doesn't work, which is what I want. It doesn'tgive an error message, but I assume it's the same problem
