I never had this problem on FC4. 2 caveats, I run FC5 as a guest not a host so I've not seen this problem. Second, I've not experimented with selinux to any degree. That said, the error you are seeing seems suspiciously like an selinux related issue. I would check the audit logs to see if there are any corresponding messages and/or set selinux to permissive and try again. Look back in the archives for methods to change selinux settings.
