I know others have complained about sound but I did not see the answer that works for me. My sound card is found. In the /etc/modprobe.conf are the lines: alias snd-card-0 snd-cs4236 options snd-card-0 index=0 option snd-cs4236 index=0 remove snd-cs4236 { /usr/sbin/alsactl store 0 > /dev/null 2>&1 || : ; }; /sbin/modprobe -r --ignore-remove snd-cs-cs4236 Although that last line is a little strange this formula has worked before. But upon boot the snd-cs4236 module is not loaded. If I load it by hand I get sound but sound that works properly. So what to do? -- ======================================================================= My father was a saint, I'm not. -- Indira Gandhi ------------------------------------------- Aaron Konstam Computer Science Trinity University telephone: (210)-999-7484
