A german one is available in the Wiki of the BraLUG
http://www.bralug2.de/wiki/index.php?title=Fedora_Core_Upgrade_mit_yum

My mini-howto could be extracted from two of my mails here, I will do it
for you:

remove some packages first:

# yum remove hpoj perl-RPM2 lvm2-cluster iiimf-le-sun-thai iiimf-qt

remove any kernel older than 2.6.14

Grab file fedora-release-5-5.noarch.rpm
from any mirror near you.

Install it:
# rpm -Uhv fedora-release-5-5.noarch.rpm

Check the messages if rpm has created .rpmnew files (if you have
modified the old ones)

Optional: open fedora-core.repo and add "-redirect" (without quotation
marks) to the URL of the mirrorlist

# yum upgrade

check if everything looks okay and then

# reboot
(and pray if you want)

Regards,
Ingo
