I don't know why this is failing for you since you seem to have a
regular FC4 installation, and I've only seen this issue before with
older python versions that don't have support for
curses.use_default_colors.

However, I still think that my patched bittorrent package may solve the
problem for you:

# rpm -Uvh --replacefiles --replacepkgs \
http://www.city-fan.org/ftp/contrib/bittorrent/bittorrent-4.4.0-1.fc4.noarch.rpm
