It's strange, though, as I had used it before.

You probably rsynced the home directory from borg to david, and overwrote your known_hosts file with the one from the remote host. If you'd done so, then naturally, the "borg" entry would no longer be present. The file on "borg" wouldn't normally have its own host fingerprint.
