Well, there is one thing. The list is (needlessly IMO) publishing the real email addresses of members along with their posts, by putting them into the "From:" header. On a mailing list this serves no purpose (again IMO). Replies to ML posts should go to the list, not the original author. Hence, if the list stopped including members addresses in posts, the anti-spam scheme would stop working. Worst case, anti-spam challenges would be sent to the list address, where they can be summarily dropped. If there is some requirement I fail to see for having members' addresses included in posts, then those should be obfuscated. For example, the "From:" header in this post could be changed from "Steffen Kluge <kluge@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>" to: "Steffen Kluge" or "Steffen Kluge <kluge@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>" or "Steffen Kluge <kluge at fujitsu.com.au>" All of this would stop a stupid misguided mechanism from annoying the hell out of a lot of people. It would also curb the irritating habit of some members to Cc: the author on replies. If the address got deliberately de-obfuscated by UOL then this would be proof of malicious spamming. Cheers Steffen.
