One thing about using "cdrecord -prcap" is that it does not list
any of the +R capabilities of the drive. If it did, it would list
that it does not support them. For example, here is part of the
listing for a DVD-CDRW drive:

Drive capabilities, per MMC-3 page 2A:

  Does read CD-R media
  Does write CD-R media
  Does read CD-RW media
  Does write CD-RW media
  Does read DVD-ROM media
  Does read DVD-R media
  Does not write DVD-R media
  Does read DVD-RAM media
  Does not write DVD-RAM media
  Does support test writing

as opposed to a Duel layer DVD-RW drive.

Drive capabilities, per MMC-3 page 2A:

  Does read CD-R media
  Does write CD-R media
  Does read CD-RW media
  Does write CD-RW media
  Does read DVD-ROM media
  Does read DVD-R media
  Does write DVD-R media
  Does not read DVD-RAM media
  Does not write DVD-RAM media
  Does support test writing

The drive specs say that it does write DVD+R and DVD_RW media, but
that is not listed by cdrecord.
