man problems on FC4 after upgrade for FC1?

Hi,

I upgraded my FC1 box to FC4, but man reports more
unnecessary error outputs. After a lot of mess, I
figured out that I had to unset my "LANG" environment
parameter.

Is there a way to skip the above by adjusting man's
configuration file /etc/man.conf or some other stuff?
