Hello: I am starting a partition on my new HD. It will be a Windows-FC4 dual boot. Should the swap and Fedora partitions be primary, logical or a logical/primary combination? Thanks! Hoffmann
Probably a primary partition for windows, a 100 MB primary for /boot, a primary for /home, then allow the rest of swap, system file systems to be contained within an LVM which is probably going to be replaced between newer version installations. I don't hink that having different partitions contained wirthin an extended partition would make much difference. My partition scheme is below on a 40 Gig drive. /var is pretty empty now but is filled up on occasion.
