My /var/spool/mail/$username file seems to be corrupted, it is over 500 MB, how do I purge it? Is it safe to just delete the file?
That depends on how the file got corrupted. I suggest that you unmount the disc and run fsck on it before attempting any "repairs" to the file system by hand. After fsck has had a shot at it, then it is probably ok to remove the file. Step one, as always, is back up everything. Mike -- p="p=%c%s%c;main(){printf(p,34,p,34);}";main(){printf(p,34,p,34);} This message made from 100% recycled bits. You have found the bank of Larn. I can explain it for you, but I can't understand it for you. I speak only for myself, and I am unanimous in that!
