You could also use 'find'. But don't forget to run:
# updatedb
often so that the database that it searches will be up to date.

You mean "locate".  Updatedb is usually run daily from a cron job, so that
shouldn't be a problem.

Unless you are using FC4. You can read the release notes for details.
