I do have a pet rat, and although she has a cage, she prefers to store things behind the monitor... So I cleaned up there a bit just now, and checked the cables for damage. There was no apparant damage to them (for those who don't know- rats chew everything). They are pulled up above the monitor to protect them from her, and that _does_ require an extension cable. But it is a quality cable. I will straighten is out a bit to see if that helps. Should I take extra care to route it far from AC power cables? Thanks for the tip.
