What i found pretty interesting is:
 
http://freshmeat.net/projects/freecast/
 
its a solution for peer 2 peer streaming (distributed streaming). it handles ogg.
 
Maybe it would be worth to try to get it compiled with gcj. having a distributed streaming solution in extras would be sweet.
