Re: Pentium-D Processors?

Whenever I try to boot an SMP kernel, the boot hangs while uncompressing the kernel. There is never any error message - it just stops.

It happens every time, without fail. The machine has 4 gigs of RAM, but that shouldn't really matter.

Hi all...

Has anyone gotten an SMP kernel to work with a Pentium-D (Dual Core)
processor?

It should work - in theory - but I haven't been able to get very far
with any of the kernels I have tried.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks...

Jamie

In general it should work out of the box.
What seems to be the problem?
Kernel OOPs?
