Hi,

When I try and upgrade a particular package, shadow-utils-4.0.3-56.x86_64, rpm starts to chew at the machine eventually exhausting my RAM and swap. Has anyone else seen such a problem? Details are:

Randomly-deviant behavior from rpm is usually solved as follows:

rpm --rebuilddb

If this doesn't complete within an hour:

rm /var/lib/rpm/__db*
rpm --rebuilddb

And if that doesn't complete within an hour, you're boned.
