Does anybody know if the following printers are Postscript printers?

HP LazerJet 5L

pcl (basically a laserjet 4)

HP LazerJet 6L

pcl

HP LazerJet 1100

pcl

the 1200 supports postscript level2

I already tried wading thru the HP site, and HP support wont tell me.

Is there any way to determine whether a particular printer has PostScript?

print to it with the generic ps driver, if you get garbage it's not a postscript printer. Or if you look at the notes for each pritner in system-config-printer you'll find a description of each printer (that's listed)

I do not yet have the printers. I am trying to find out before buying. I have not been able to find notes in system-config-printer w/out having the printer connected to my computer.

Just create a new printer... it doesn't have to exist.
