Oh right, one with out any coherent correlation between the keycaps and
the functionality.
Much as it grieves me to say it, there's a lot of logic in some of the
other OSs key combinations: A qualifier and O to open files, a
qualifier and S to save a file, arrow keys, etc. Linux, on the other
hand, uses a plethora of illogical and different key combinations.
Heck, I can't even cut and paste between some things, at all, even when
I've figured out what peculiar key combinations individual applications
use.
I can see why Firefox, by default, uses logical key combinations, and
doesn't use unnatural vi-specific keybindings.

I can agree with the argument that the common user may not understand
the Emacs or Vi "standard" key bindings for cursor movement, but over
the years they HAVE become a standard. I also agree that the plethora
for key mappings from Linux applications are detrimental to common user
"comfort" with Linux.
Having said that, however, for someone used to the Vi/Emacs "standards"
it would be a great convenience not to have to shift to the auxiliary
keypad to move about in the browser.
