I would replace the video card but the machine only has a half height

inbuilt 815 working properly, would be good.
What settings for video memory are available in BIOS? I have my card set
for 64MB. I believe there is another setting related to video memory
which is set for 1MB.
As a reference to what may be a cause for your problem. I have another
system which has an Intel 865G that worked in Microsoft but not in
Linux. It was a buggy BIOS for a Dell computer. After upgrading the BIOS
to A04, it works great for that system with an Intel card. It could be
BIOS, settings in BIOS that are limiting your higher resolution
settings. (This system is set for 8MB for the comparable 815 that has
1MB tops and 256MB for the comparable 64MB the 815 can be set for.)
Just a few ideas, hopefully one will lead to a fix for you.
