Maybe this will help. (I think it worked in Doom3, but I'm not sure)
Copy http://zerowing.idsoftware.com/linux/quake4-files/game100.pk4 to
your q4base directory.
(It supposed to help connecting to Windows servers; I assume it required
to access Windows content.)
