Nope nothing like this. I was thinking that this question was simple ..
but I think not, so it could be a monitor problem at least ... but if I

just a quick note... a quick google on X11 xorg.conf power save
turned up this...:-

(I know its not Fedora but still...)
Just in case your xorg.conf has any of the power save stuff in it...
