If you read the reviews, they talk about the > lousy sound for the onboard. The reviews I read said that the sound was basically entry-level. Which is fine with me. I don't need surround sound or anything fancy like that. It turns out that this problem is not at all related to the smp kernel problem I originally thought, but is an esound bug: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=158571 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=140999 It sure would be nice to get an esound update. When I applied the suggestions in the comments, sound cleaned right up. Dan > I use it as a server so never even bothered trying the sound. > But yes, purchasing a SB card would help. > > > Mike > >
