Plans for upgrading esound in Fedora distro?

Somewhere around the time I upgraded most of my Linux
machines to FC3 sound from many of the desktop apps
(e.g., the sound clip for announcing the arrival of
new mail in Thunderbird) became horribly garbled and
distorted. Since it happened on every machine
upgraded, including some widely varied hardware
(including at least one laptop), I was pretty
confident that this wasn't a problem caused by flaky
hardware, and that the problem would be widely
reported and corrected before too long. I'm still
confident about ruling out broken hardware, but I'm a
little puzzled that the problem has not been corrected
in the Fedora distro yet. I understand[1] that the
bug is in the esound package, and that it has been
corrected in version 0.2.36, released four months ago
(FC4 currently has 0.2.35). Does anyone know if there
are plans to bump up esound in FC4 any time soon?
