So I am using a Treo600 smartphone which I want to sync with Evolution and need some assistance. Basically it will be connected via USB to a Dell inspiron 300m. When connected and during a sync attempt, a lsusb reveals the device at:
Bus 002 Device 004: ID 082d:0300 Treo Smartphone ....
So I know the hardware is recognized, but looking at gpilotd-control-applet I am a little lost. The device options are /dev/pilot, then /dev/ttyS0 - S5 none of which are my USB devices (although the USB radio is selected.)
cat /proc/bus/usb/devices also reveals:
T: Bus=02 Lev=01 Prnt=01 Port=00 Cnt=01 Dev#= 6 Spd=12 MxCh= 0
D: Ver= 1.00 Cls=00(>ifc ) Sub=00 Prot=00 MxPS=64 #Cfgs= 1
P: Vendor=082d ProdID=0300 Rev= 1.00
S: Manufacturer=Palm, Inc.
S: Product=Palm Handheld
S: SerialNumber=PalmSN12345678
C:* #Ifs= 1 Cfg#= 1 Atr=c0 MxPwr= 2mA
I: If#= 0 Alt= 0 #EPs= 4 Cls=ff(vend.) Sub=00 Prot=00 Driver=visor
E: Ad=81(I) Atr=02(Bulk) MxPS= 64 Ivl=0ms
E: Ad=01(O) Atr=02(Bulk) MxPS= 64 Ivl=0ms
E: Ad=82(I) Atr=02(Bulk) MxPS= 64 Ivl=0ms
E: Ad=02(O) Atr=02(Bulk) MxPS= 64 Ivl=0ms
So it looks like hardware wise I am fine, and I assume I need to just create /dev/pilot (which doesnt exist) to symlink to something on the USB side... but what? Or ... am I completely lost in this? Read up on jpilot, pilot-link, and all sorts of other apps, but want to try to keep the sync with evo and start with this maillist for help 1st.
Thanks all.
Lance
