Seems to be ok.

You may want to explicitly specify the 'Virtual' screen size.
Then, you may want to check permissions on the configuration files,
specifically /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Then you may want to compare the output of X to see if there's any
difference between doing startx as root or as a normal user. I expect
there to be a difference between the two.
