Is is possible to configure FC4 in such a way that I can press the reset button at will, or rudely turn off the power, and not have to care in the slightest about the file system being upset? Thinking of leaving a box at the mercy of the completely inept, here. But I see no reason, now, that we should have to put up with complicated shutdown procedures. My old Amiga could be turned off or reset at will, so long as I didn't interrupt a write, and since ALL writes were completely under my control, that was easy (e.g. quit the word processor, or simply do nothing with it, then switch off or reboot). I can think of a few obvious things, like disabling servers, logging, and databasing of drive contents. That should prevent writes happening at an inopportune moment. Any other ideas? -- Don't send private replies to my address, the mailbox is ignored. I read messages from the public lists.
