What am I doing wrong here? Is there a "compile log" or some
debugging mechanism for me to see what's going wrong and why? Building of the
kernel dies w/ the
following message: $ rpmbuild -bb --target=i686 rpmbuild/SPECS/kernel-2.6.spec [ output deleted ] [...] CONFIG_DVB_DIBUSB CONFIG_DVB_B2C2_SKYSTAR make[1]: *** [nonint_oldconfig] Error 2 make: *** [nonint_oldconfig] Error 2 error: Bad exit status from /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.22804 (%prep) RPM build errors: Bad exit status from /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.22804 (%prep) $ I'm building the kernel-2.6.12-1.1372_FC3.src.rpm per http://crab-lab.zool.ohiou.edu/kevin/kernel-compilation-tutorial- en/steps.html After the rpmbuild -bp step, I patch the kernel w/ DVB-2.6.12.patch, generating no errors. I run make menuconfig (only changing my processor type to P4, the Broadcom 1310 chipset--for which I'm trying to compile in support--is indeed listed in dvb atsc frontends), then insert the "# i386" line per https://www.redhat.com/archives/fedora-list/2005-May/msg00401.html Then, I copy the .config and continue on to the rpmbuild -bb per the the tutorial above, resulting in the "bad exit" documented above.
