This ADSL line uses DHCP.
Connected to an other Fedora 1 machine I get:
[root@localhost root]# ifconfig -a

While installing Fedora 4 the options Firewall and SELinux were not
selected. Can this have anything to do with the problem?

I don't see an IP address in your ifconfig output for eth0. Are you
using static IPs or DHCP to determine IP addresses?

What does ifconfig say, particularly the various error counters?
At the moment the connection cannot be activated, and I am not able
/sbin/ifconfig -a
should still have something to say. But why is it this connection "cannot be
activated"?
-Andy
Network Configuration->Activate fails, the error message is:
Cannot activate network device eth0!
Determining IP information for eth0...PING 10.0.0.1 (10.0.0.1) from
10.0.0.2 eth0: 56(84) bytes of data.

failed.
Sorry to say I am not familiar with these network functions. I
hope ifconfig can tell us something:
