Several possibilities.

The most reliable is using rpm:

# which rpmbuild
/usr/bin/rpmbuild

# rpm -qf /usr/bin/rpmbuild
rpm-build-4.4.1-22

# rpm -q --qf "%{SOURCERPM}\n" rpm-build-4.4.1-22
rpm-4.4.1-22.src.rpm
