I am installing FC3 to my Dell Latitude laptop, currently it has
Windows2000 on it as the only OS. The harddisk is 20G. The GUI mode
installment fails on 1st CD right after I select keyboard layout, and then I
select text mode, it fails again and gives me some info. It says it is
mostly likely a bug and ask me to file a bug report. The message is like
this,
Traceback File "/usr/bin/anaconda", line 1165, in ? intf.run(id, dispatch,
configFileData)
After some search, I am led to Bug 138419 at
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=138419. There is a long
discussion over there and it seems to me the only option is to re-boot the
PC with rescure CD and wipe off the partition table.
Since this is a very destructive action, I wonder if you see such error
before, and how you fix it. FC3 is out for quite a while, I just wonder why
I still meet this problem? Is that true that even some major bug is
identified, the install image will not be updated?
